What Might This Song Do to the Listener?

Get Ready installs confidence as the engine of courtship, the swagger of someone certain their love is wanted and on its way. You learn to announce yourself instead of waiting and to treat your own true feeling as reason enough to come on strong. A little chase reads as part of the fun, and pursuit becomes a happy declaration.

Running this pumps you up and keeps it light. It rewards boldness in love and the belief that sincerity earns its welcome, and it stays just shy of pushy by promising something true rather than just wanting. What stays thin is everything past the swagger: the song is all forward motion and confidence, charming and shallow.

What Might This Song Do to a Society?

Get Ready installs a cultural picture of courtship as confident announcement, where bringing a true feeling forward boldly is the right way to win someone. A population running it daily learns to admire romantic boldness and to read a suitor's certainty and forward motion as charm rather than pressure.

Communities absorbing this get a peppy, confident model of pursuit that prizes sincerity and nerve. The same swagger can blur the line between confident and presumptuous, teaching people to announce their intentions more than to ask. What stays thin is any picture of love past the chase, since the song ends the moment the pursuit begins.

Audience Vibe

The compass reads the lyrics. The Audience Vibe reads the people — the general place the audience thinks the compass should be pointing for this song, not a raw tally of votes. Two needles, one song; the gap between them is the data.

Do you think it should stay where it is, or be pushed further in one direction?

One vote per person per song per year. No single vote can move the needle far — it takes a crowd.

How the Audience Vibe is calculated

The needle is the compass score nudged by the crowd — never a raw tally. Every "push higher," "push lower," and "agree" vote is recombined into one position each time someone votes:

  • Direction comes from the split. Only the gap between higher and lower votes moves the needle. "Agree" votes pull it back toward the compass score.
  • It takes a crowd. Early votes move it gently — a handful shifts it only a point or two. The more lopsided the crowd, the further it goes.
  • It's capped. The audience can pull a song at most 15 points off the compass score, either direction. No pile-on can push it past that.

So a single "push lower" on a song with few votes moves the needle a little (often a point or two), not all the way down — and it can never run away.
